Held annually, White Cane Week is to create awareness of issues that confront the blind and vision impaired community, but just as important, demonstrate to others as well as themselves, ability over disability. A variety of event are held at the national and local level. The CCB is the Voice of the Blind in Canada.
First held in 1946, White Cane Week™™ is held during the first week of February each year. Local events are held across Canada as well as the national vision impaired curling championship. The purpose of White Cane Week™ is to create awareness to the general public of the issues that confront the blind and partially sighted.
