Glace Bay Children Injured in Collision

Two children remain in hospital in Halifax this morning after they were struck by a car in Glace Bay on Friday.

Cape Breton Regional Police said the 8-year-old boy is in critical condition, while the 11-year-old girl is in serious condition.

The siblings were struck while they were crossing Main Street near St. Anne’s Church at about 10:00 at night.

Police add they were near a crosswalk and one of them was on a bicycle.

The driver is a 64-year-old man.

No charges have been laid and Police say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the collision.

Their investigation continues.
