19 Year-Old Lingan Man Dead After Ben Eoin Crash

RCMP say a 19-year-old Lingan man is dead after the grey Volkswagen Jetta he was driving left Highway 4 in Ben Eoin and hit a power pole, late yesterday afternoon.

The Mounties say they got the call about the crash at around 4:40.

They say the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say a 21-year-old Grand Mira woman who was a passenger in the car suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

A 20-year-old Glace Bay man who was also a passenger suffered what police describe as non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to hospital.

RCMP say the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
