Renovations Complete At Miners Museum
One and a half million dollars in renovations have been completed on the Cape Breton Miners Museum.
All three levels of government announced money for the project in January.
The work included repairs to the Glace Bay facility’s leaking roof and tower, along with new doors and windows and an updated ventilation system.
The tower has been opened up to allow more light into the building.
Museum Executive Director Mary Pat Mombourquette says it’s great to have the renovations completed.
She adds her future goal is a 3 million dollar project to create a simulation of an underground mine at the museum.
