Province Announces Energy Upgrades For Public Housing

The province says it’s spending 11 million dollars to improve energy efficiency in public housing.

The upgrades will be done at a hundred public housing structures in 51 communities across the province.

The work will include upgrading exterior cladding, and installing attic insulation and energy efficient windows and doors.

The province says the measures will bring down heating and cooling costs and offer a more comfortable environment for people living in the buildings.

Five of the buildings will also be getting solar panels to produce electricity.
