Comfort Centres Open Again Today In Regional Municipality

The Regional Municipality says three comfort centres are operating today for people still without power after storm Dorian.

A comfort centre at the Gabarus Fire Department opened at 8:00 this morning and will stay open until 8:00, tonight.

A Comfort centre at Centre 200 will open at noon and run until 5:00 this evening.

People will be able to get meals at Centre 200 between 1:00 this afternoon and 5:00, this evening.

A comfort centre at the Big Pond Fire Department will run from 3:00 this afternoon until 7:00 tonight.

Meanwhile, there’s also a helpline for people still without power who need food and drinkable water.

People can phone 902-562-1717 until 4:00 this afternoon.

The municipality says the Salvation Army and its volunteers will help get food and water to people in need.
