Zann Staying On But MacLeod And Orrell Resigning Tomorrow

Independent MLA Lenore Zann says she’ll continue to serve as a provincial politician, despite winning the federal Liberal nomination for Cumberland-Colchester on Saturday.

The former NDP MLA says she plans to resign when her nomination papers are submitted to Elections Canada in September.

Meanwhile, Cape Breton Tory MLA’s Alfie MacLeod and Eddie Orrell along with their party colleague Chris d’Entremont all plan to step down tomorrow.

The three have won nominations to run for the Conservatives in the October election.

Premier Stephen McNeil says he doesn’t know when he’s going to call by-elections to fill the vacancies left by tomorrow’s resignations.
