Women’s Worlds Cancelled Because of COVID-19

Hockey Canada has confirmed the province has cancelled the Women’s World Hockey Championship because of COVID-19.

Halifax and Truro were scheduled to host the 10-country tournament from May 6^th to 16^th.

The cancellation comes not long after the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Robert Strang, said measures were put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the tournament.

Meanwhile, Hockey Canada says it’s looking into options for holding the tournament elsewhere in the coming months if it’s safe to do so.
