Woman Displaced After Sydney Mines Fire

The Red Cross says a woman was displaced from her home after a fire in Sydney Mines on the weekend.

It adds the Saturday afternoon blaze damaged one apartment in a Butt Street house containing three apartments.

The woman wasn’t home at the time an there were no injuries.

Red Cross volunteers are providing her with emergency lodging, food and clothing.

There’s no word on the cause of the fire.
