Wintery Weather Causes Power Outages and Some Cancellations

Only three schools in the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board are cancelled, today due to the weather.

Classes are cancelled at Baddeck Academy, Middle River School and Rankin School of the Narrows in Iona, only.

All other schools in the board are open.

Meanwhile, the Marconi Campus of the Nova Scotia Community College and Cape Breton University were closed this morning because of a power outage.

The outage has now been restored and CBU says this afternoon’s exams will go ahead.

It adds all exams scheduled for this morning will now be written on Saturday.

There were more than 16-hundred customers in Cape Breton without power, earlier this morning.
