Whycocomagh Man Charged After Fatal Crash

A 22 year-old Whycocomagh man has been charged after a fatal accident in Inverness County over the weekend.

RCMP say they got called at about 8:00 Friday night to MacLeod Settlement Road in Glencoe, where a Jeep hit an embankment and rolled over.

A 19 year-old Whycocomagh man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 20 year-old Mabou woman was thrown from the vehicle and later brought to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and three other people were treated for minor injuries.

Police haven’t released the name of the man they say was driving the vehicle.

He’s due in Port Hawkesbury Court today on charges of Impaired Operation of a Vehicle Causing Death and Impaired Operation of a Vehicle Causing Bodily Harm.

Police say their investigation continues.
