What People Think About The End Of Sobey’s Plastic Bags

The plastic grocery bag will become a thing of the past after today at Sobey’s.

The grocery giant plans to eliminate single-use plastic bags from all of its 255 stores across the country, tomorrow.

We asked some shoppers at the Sobey’s parking lot in Glace Bay what they thing about the change.

Sobey’s says the move to get rid of plastic bags should take 225 million bags out of circulation every year.

The store will offer paper bags at 10 cents apiece for people who forget to bring their reuseable bags.

Meanwhile, a bill to ban single-use plastic bags in Nova Scotia takes effect this fall.
