WestJet Launches Sydney To Halifax Direct Flights

There’s now competition for Air Canada for direct flights between Sydney and Halifax with the introduction of WestJet’s Encore service, yesterday.

Company CEO Ferio (pool lee AY see) Pugliese says the move into Sydney is about giving people more options.

WestJet Encore flights will leave Halifax for Sydney every day at 12:35 in the afternoon.

Return flights to Halifax will leave Sydney at 2:00.

There were already signs of the competition in action yesterday evening when Air Canada dropped its ticket price to Halifax to match WestJet’s one-way fare of 253 dollars.

An expected seat sale on WestJet Encore later this month and into August will see one-way flights to Halifax as cheap as $136.
