Wagmatcook man facing firearms and resisting arrest charges

A 49-year-old Wagmatcook man is facing firearms charges and charges of resisting arrest after police say he pointed a gun at them during a brief standoff Thursday night.

Police say they were called to a Wagmatcook home just before 7:30 Thursday night; when they arrived, they say they found the man pointing a gun at them through the doorway.

Police say they were able to convince the man to give up his gun and leave the home, but he went back to get it, and he was arrested.

Police say they seized the gun, which was loaded; no one was injured.

The man now faces two counts of pointing a firearm, one count of careless use of a firearm, and one count of resisting arrest.

He’s been released on conditions, and is due in court in December.
