Visitor Restrictions In Place At Hospitals In Glace Bay, Inverness

The provincial Health Authority says visitor restrictions are in place at Glace Bay Hospital to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Similar measures are in place at the hospital in Inverness.

Inpatients in Glace Bay are now allowed only one consistent visitor.

A rule of one designated support person per day continues for palliative care patients and outpatients, as well as patients who need support for critical treatment decisions.

Some inpatients in Inverness are not allowed to have any visitors, while others will be allowed one designated support person per day.

The new restrictions in Glace Bay and Inverness will be in place until Monday.

The restrictions come after the province reported a number of hospital outbreaks on the mainland over the past week.
