Visitor Restrictions Change At Northside, New Waterford Hospitals

The provincial Health Authority says patients at the Northside General and New Waterford Consolidated hospitals are now allowed to have visitors but some restrictions are still in place.

Until today, people in the two hospitals were unable to have visitors because of COVID-19 and staffing requirements.

People in the hospitals can now have one consistent fully vaccinated designated support person but those with COVID-19 will not be allowed to have visitors unless they’re needed for the patient’s care.

Children under 19 admitted to the hospitals and critically ill patients are allowed to have two designated support people but only one is allowed to visit at a time.

Adults coming to the hospitals for clinics, appointments, tests or procedures are asked to come alone unless they need support to get care.
