Visitor Restrictions At Regional Hospital’s Maternal Child Units

The provincial Health Authority says visits are being restricted to the Maternal Child units at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

It says the restrictions are in place because of an increase in cases of general respiratory illnesses among patients admitted to the hospital’s pediatric unit.

The restrictions cover the obstetrics department, the mother baby and labour and delivery units as well as the neonatal intensive care unit and the pediatrics unit.

Only parents or grandparents without colds can visit and they’re being required to wash their hands before and after visits to the units.
