The province says there’s going to be a disruption in the supply of Moderna’s Infant COVID-19 vaccine next month.
It says the disruption will start on March 9th and will last a few weeks.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang says there’s still time to book an appointment before the disruption but if that’s not possible children should get their next dose once the supply is available.
He says delaying the second dose will not make the vaccine any less effective.
The province says children between six months and four years old who started their primary series with Moderna and are due for their next dose on or before March 8th should still get the dose by that date.
It says there’s no effect on children getting the Pfizer infant vaccine.
