Vaccine Program Expanding, Mobile Testing Units Coming To CB

The province’s COVID-19 vaccination program is expanding on Monday to include people 80 and older who were born in May, June, July or August.

The province is dividing up the 80 and over age group into three separate groups based on their month of birth after the website for booking appointments crashed because of a high level of traffic when it was first launched.

Meanwhile, the province also announced today a mobile unit will be in Cape Breton next week to test for COVID-19.

It’ll be at the Knights of Columbus in New Waterford on Monday and at the Glace Bay Legion on Tuesday.

The service will be available from 11 in the morning to 5 in the evening in both places.

The unit will also be in Whycocomagh on Wednesday, Judique on Thursday, and St. Peter’s on Friday.
