Union for School Board Support Staff To Hold Info Picket

The union for support staff with the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board plans to hold a rally outside of Sydney Mines Junior High where elected board members will hold their meeting this evening.

CUPE Local 5050 says the information picket is a protest against layoffs for more of its members as well as funding cuts from the province.

The event gets underway at 5:00.

CUPE Nova Scotia president Danny Cavanagh will speak at the rally.
