Union For CBU Support Staff Applies For Conciliation

The union representing support staff at Cape Breton University has applied for conciliation after it says contract talks broke off last Friday.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees says the outstanding issues include contracting out, job layoffs and wages.

The union’s collective agreement expired on March 31, 2016.

At this point, no further talks are scheduled.

CUPE Local 3131 represents about 65 members who work as administrative and support staff at CBU.
