Two More Cases Of COVID-19 UK Variant In Province

The Department of Health says two more cases of a variant of COVID-19 first found in the UK have been identified in the province.

It says the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg identified the two cases yesterday.

Both were tested in January and reported in the Central Zone and both have recovered.

The province says the original investigation didn’t determine a source for the infections, but it says the two people and their close contacts will be re-interviewed.

The total number of cases of the so-called UK variant identified in the province now stands at three.
