Two Dead In Crash Near Baddeck

Two people are dead after their car hit a transport truck near Baddeck this morning.

RCMP say they got a call to a section of the 105 Trans Canada near Exit 8 shortly after 8:00.

They say a 60 year-old man and a 57 year-old woman from Inverness County were in the car and were pronounced dead at the scene.

The 41 year-old Newfoundland man driving the transport truck was brought to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Trans Canada is closed in both directions near the accident scene and it’s not expected to re-open for a number of hours.

The accident comes after a 45 year-old Victoria County woman was killed in another accident involving a transport truck on the 105 in South Haven yesterday.
