Two Charged In Sydney Stabbing

Two people appeared in court today on charges stemming from the stabbing of a 17 year-old girl in Sydney on the weekend.

44 year-old Brian Michael Costigan faces counts of Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Assaulting a Peace Officer, while 33 year-old Jolene Rita Snow is charged with breaching court conditions.

Regional Police say they arrested a man and a woman after getting called to the Sheriff Avenue/Townsend Street area on Saturday morning, when a girl told officers she’d been assaulted in a confrontation with two people.

Police say all of those involved know each other.

The girl has been treated and released from hospital.

Costigan and Snow are due back in court for bail hearings tomorrow.
