Trial Ordered For Manslaughter Accused

A 37 year-old woman has been committed to stand trial on a charge of manslaughter in the death of a woman in Sydney Mines.

Kimberley Ann O’Dea was originally charged with second degree murder in the death of 28 year-old Dana Marie Jessome.

Jessome died from injuries suffered when she was hit by a car in July of last year.

Provincial Court Judge Diane McGrath ruled today there’s enough evidence to send the case to trial after a preliminary hearing earlier this month.

O’Dea’s next court appearance is on July 30th in a separate case.

She’s also due in court to set a trial date on August 1st.
