Trial For Man Accused In Fatal Stabbing Of Glace Bay Native Continues, Today

The trial for a man accused of fatally stabbing a Glace Bay native continues today in Calgary.

Nicholas Rasberry is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Craig Kelloway at Rasberry’s house in May of 2013.

At the trial yesterday, the judge ruled that a video-taped interview with the accused is admissible as evidence.

During the two-and-a-half-hour video, Rasberry tearfully tells a Calgary police detective that he didn’t want Kelloway to die but adds he feared for his safety after he says he was threatened by Kelloway.

Rasberry then says he was able to grab a knife and began to stab Kelloway in the back.

A total of three knives were used in the attack.

The case continues today with testimony from the medical examiner.
