Tree From Cape Breton Going As Gift To Boston

A tree from Cape Breton will be sent as a Christmas gift to Boston for the second year in a row this year.

Last year, a tree from Crown Land in Ainslie Glen, Inverness County was the first sent from the Island to Boston.

This year, a white spruce from the land of Bob and Marion Campbell and their family in nearby Blues Mills has been chosen.

The tree is given as part of the annual thank you to Boston for the help the city sent Nova Scotia after the 1917 Halifax Explosion.

A public cutting ceremony will take place at the Campbell’s property on November 15th.
