Trailer Park Tenant To Appeal Eviction

A woman who lives in Troy Trailer Court is appealing an eviction notice she and other tenants, got last week.

The owner of the trailer park says they have to be out by June 11th.

But Carol MacLean says she’s hoping the tenancies board will force the landlord to give them another year.

Owner John Webb says he can no long afford to operate the trailer park.

He’s offered to donate the land to Inverness County and leave the municipality to make a decision about the park

But County Councillor Dwayne MacDonald says he’s not sure if that’s allowed under the Municipal Government Act.

He adds ongoing water and sewage problems at the park would be a huge undertaking for the County.

Meanwhile, tenants plan to meet again with MacDonald and their local MLA Allan MacMaster to discuss their options.
