Traffic Delays Expected in Sydney

Cape Breton Regional Police are advising drivers of traffic delays starting tomorrow.

Nova Scotia Power is beginning an upgrade of services in the Townsend Street area of Sydney.

The workers will be on the scene from Tuesday-Friday this week from 6:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m.

The work will last for several weeks until all poles are replaced and services are upgraded from the Nova Scotia Power substation on Townsend Street to the Esplanade.

Townsend Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic starting tomorrow.

Police also ask motorists  to take an alternate route to avoid traffic delays on Townsend Street, with stoppages also from McKenzie to George Street in Sydney.
