Tories Nominate Candidate in Sydney River-Mira-Louisbourg

The Progressive Conservatives have nominated registered nurse, Brian Comer to run for the party in Sydney River-Mira-Louisbourg.

He’ll face Liberal candidate and Sydney entrepreneur Marc Botte in the September 3rd vote.

The Liberals and Tories have also nominated candidates for the other Cape Breton by-election on that date.

Regional Police officer Paul Ratchford is carrying the Liberal banner in Northside-Westmount, while the P-C’s have nominated provincial Department of Transportation worker Danny Laffin.

So far, the other parties have not nominated candidates in either consitituency.

The seats were left vacant when Tories Alfie MacLeod and Eddie Orrell resigned to run for the federal Conservatives.
