Tories Hold Healthcare Town Halls

More than a hundred people came out for yesterday’s healthcare town halls in the Regional Municipality organized by the Progressive Conservatives.

The events took place in Glace Bay, New Waterford and North Sydney.

The province plans to replace the hospitals in North Sydney and New Waterford with community health centres that don’t have emergency departments.

Tory leader Tim Houston was at all three town halls.

However, he refused to sign a declaration to keep the hospitals open because he says he wants to hear from more people before he commits to his plan for health reform.
