Tilley & Mombourquette Call On Province To Help Save Miners Museum

Cape Breton Liberal MLA’s Fred Tilley and Derek Mombourquette are calling on the Progressive-Conservative government to step in to make sure the Cape Breton Miners Museum can remain open.

The Museum’s executive director Mary Pat Mombourquette says they aren’t making enough money to pay for expenses.

She says provincial funding hasn’t increased to meet the demand.

Tilley and Mombourquette say they’re disappointed the government doesn’t see the value in granting the Glace Bay facility provincial museum status.

They say that could unlock new funding that will help the museum stay open.
