Three Regional Police Officers Suspended

Neither their union nor police have said why three members of the Cape Breton Regional Police force have been suspended with pay.

The Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union does say the suspended officers are Jerome Kelly, Roberta Kelly and Greg Livingstone.

Jerome Kelly is president of the police union local while Livingstone is vice-president.

There are reports the suspension may be related to the ongoing trial of another suspended Regional Police officer, Const. Wade Lavin.

Lavin is accused of impersonating a staff sergeant and testimony at his trial wrapped up on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a Regional Police spokesperson says the three suspensions are a human resources matter and adds a statement may be given, today.
