Grief counsellors will be at two schools in Richmond County today after two students and a teacher died in a four-vehicle crash near Port Hawkesbury, yesterday.
RCMP says the crash on Highway 104 happened shortly after 12:30 in the afternoon when an eastbound vehicle slightly crossed the centre line.
They add the victims’ car turned sideways after it was sideswiped and was T-boned by a van.
Police say a 26-year-old Louisdale woman died at the scene along with her back-seat passenger, a 12-year-old Louisdale girl.
A 13-year-old Mexican girl in the car was rushed to Strait Richmond Hospital and died before she could be airlifted to hospital in Halifax.
The Strait Regional School Board says the girls were students at Richmond Education Centre and Academy in Louisdale while the woman was a teacher at Felix Marchand Education Centre in Louisdale.
It adds the three were on their way to a school sporting event in Port Hawkesbury.
RCMP says the crash remains under investigation.
