Three Arrested In Connection To Overnight B&E’s

Cape Breton Regional Police have arrested three people in connection to a pair of break-ins in Sydney overnight. The first incident occurred around 12:30 am, when several windows were smashed and items stolen at the Liquor Store on Victoria Road. While investigating the incident, police were called to a second break-in at Belly Busters in Membertou at about 2:30 am. A dark-coloured van was seen leaving the location, and police say they followed its tracks to a ditch near the ramp to the 125 off George St. Police say three individuals were seen in the area, and they say that one of those people attempted to flee the scene. Police say they found stolen items on the individuals and placed them under arrest. The suspects’ vehicle was confiscated. A 30 year-old Sydney man, an 18 year-old Eskasoni man, and a 28 year-old Membertou woman remain in custody while police conduct an investigation. Charges are pending.
