Runs June 20-24th.
Multi award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist Thom Swift released his fourth solo album, The Legend of Roy Black on June 3, 2016.
The 10-song folk-roots recording was produced and recorded by Thom and Charles Austin at Echo Chamber Studio in Halifax, NS and mixed and mastered by Dave Gunning at Wee House of Music in Pictou, NS.
All songs were written by Thom, including two co-writes: “Well Worn Road” and “Broken Glass” with award-winning musician Keith Mullins and excluding a cover of the late Jim Dorie’s song titled, “I Don’t Know” and a cover of the over 60 year-old classic titled “A Satisfied Mind”, written by J.H. Hayes & Jack Rhodes.
The album features Thom on acoustic and resonator guitars and vocals, Tom Easley on stand up bass, Asa Brosius on pedal steel, and J.P. Cormier on mandolin, violins and banjo. Dave Gunning performs high-strung guitar on lead track “Well Worn Road”.
With over twenty-five years experience recording and performing across Canada, the United States and Europe, Thom shoots straight to the point with his writing. His voice and music is unique and powerful.
He has toured and shared the stage with noted performers such as Rosanne Cash, John Hiatt, Bill Frisell, John Mayall, and Pinetop Perkins and he is co-founder of award-winning folk-blues-jazz group, Hot Toddy Trio, who have released nine albums and performed at prestigious music festivals worldwide.
