Third Former Firefighter Charged With Arson Due In Court, Today

A third former member of the Florence Fire Department charged in connection to a number of suspicious fires last spring and summer is due back in court today.
33 year-old Gary Richard Luker from North Sydney was arrested last month and released on conditions.

He faces two charges of Arson.
Luker was charged after Stephen Tremblett and James MacDonald were arrested in connection to a host of suspicious fires in the Florence and Bras d’Or areas.

All but two of the fires involved abandoned buildings and no injuries were reported as a result of the blazes.
Police say the fires are still under investigation.
