Third and Final Provincial Recount, Today

The third and final recount from the May 30th provincial election will take place, later this morning.

 

NDP candidate and former MLA Denise Peterson-Rafuse lost by 90 votes to Liberal Hugh MacKay in Chester-St. Margaret’s.

 

The recount is due to start at 9:30 this morning at the Halifax courthouse.

 

Meanwhile, Elections Nova Scotia says two Liberal candidates have been officially re-elected following re-counts on Friday.

 

Liberal cabinet minister Llyod Hines took Guysborough-Eastern Shore-Tracadie from Progressive Conservative Rob Wolf by 71 votes.

 

And Bill Horne won Waverley-Fall River-Beaverbank by 67 votes

over PC hopeful Dan McNaughton.
