Teenage Girls Charged After Knife Incident at Mall

Cape Breton Regional Police have now laid charges against two teenage girls in connection to an incident with a knife at the Mayflower Mall, yesterday.

Police say they got a call from mall security about a female shoplifter resisting arrest.

 They add they got a second call that the guard was struggling with two females and that one may have a knife.

They say no one was injured and a knife was recovered.

A 13 and 15-year-old were arrested near the mall.

Police say the 15-year-old faces charges of Theft, Uttering Threats and Breach of a Sentence Order.

She was released from custody on a Promise To Appear and an Undertaking and is due in Sydney Provincial Court at a later date.

They say the 13 year old girl will be in court later today to face charges of Theft, Uttering Threats, Possession of a Weapon and Breach of an Undertaking.
