Teen Charged With Lighting Flare Inside Wal-Mart Due In Court

The case of a 17-year-old Northside boy charged with setting off a flare inside the North Sydney Wal-Mart is due back in court today.

The boy has pleaded guilty to the charges of mischief over $5,000, being a common nuisance by discharging a flare and two counts of breaching court orders.

His name is banned from publication under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

The defence wants the teen to be referred to the restorative justice program while the Crown is opposing the move.
