Teddy Causes Cancellations and Delayed Openings

Post Tropical Storm Teddy made landfall this morning near Sheet Harbour on the province’s eastern shore.

Environment Canada is forecasting wind gusts of up to 110 km/hr along the coast through to Cape Breton.

There’s also a storm surge warning for the eastern coast of Cape Breton.

Schools in Cape Breton are cancelled today because of Teddy.

However, regular garbage pickup is taking place in the Regional Municipality and Transit Cape Breton is operating.

Provincial offices in the Regional Municipality are delaying opening until noon today.

And City Hall in Sydney is also closed until noon.
