Teachers Voting Today For A New Union President

Members of the Teachers Union are voting for their next president, today.

Incumbent president Liette Doucet is facing four challengers for the post.

Voting stared at 6:00 this morning and ends at 8:00 tonight.

The union says it hopes to announce the results by 9:00, tonight.

It also says a run-off vote will be held between the top two candidates a week from tomorrow if the winner doesn’t get 50 per cent plus 1 of the vote.

The next president’s two-year term will begin on August 1st.
