Teachers Union Holding Strike Vote

The Nova Scotia Teachers Union is holding a strike vote today for its nearly 10-thousand members.

Union president Ryan Lutes is urging the membership to vote in favour of a strike.

The union says the results of the vote should be released at 9:00 tonight.

If teachers vote in favour of a strike, there’s a 45 day cooling off period before job action can be taken.

Conciliation talks between the union and the province are scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.
