Teachers Holding Strike Vote, Today

Teachers in the province are holding a strike vote today although any job action would be illegal.

The Teachers Union has called for the vote as the McNeil government moves ahead with controversial recommendations from the Glaze report.

Among them, are removing principals and vice-principals from the Teachers Union and disbanding the elected English school boards and replacing them with a provincial advisory council.

Voting begins at 7:00 this morning and runs until 8:00 tonight.
