Teacher Charged With Sexually Assaulting His Student Due In Court, Today

A Reserve Mines man accused of sexually assaulting a girl who was his student is due back in court today for another plea hearing.

52 year-old Lawrence Robert Summerell faces two counts of sexual assault, two counts of luring a child under the age of 18 and a single count of sexual exploitation.

The charges date to between January and June of 2017.

Summerell has been placed on administrative leave from his teaching job at Memorial High in Sydney Mines.

He continues his release on conditions.
