A Victoria County man is due in court today for a bail hearing after being charged with an indecent act involving a child in Sydney, last week.
50 year-old Trevor Patrick Brewer, from Tarbot, faces charges of committing an indecent act and invitation to sexual touching involving a person under the age of 16.
Prosecutors say Brewer was charged after an incident involving a four year-old at a store on Wednesday.
Brewer has a number of previous sex offences on his record, including a seven-day sentence after pleading guilty to failing to register as a sex offender.
His other convictions were in Ontario on charges including sexual assault, committing indecent acts and two counts of invitation to sexual touching.
