Tainted Drug Reported In Sydney Area

The provincial Health Authority has put out a warning about a tainted opioid in the Sydney area.

It says it got a report of an unexpected reaction to bromofentanyl, a drug similar to fentanyl.

The authority goes on to say, based on the reaction observed, the drug is thought to have been tainted with black crystalline rock.

The Health Authority is advising people to have naloxone available to reverse the effects of opioid overdoses.

Naloxone is available for free at most pharmacies.

The PeerSix Overdose Prevention site is located at 75 Prince Street in Sydney.
