The Sykes call centre in Sydney is closing its doors today, throwing about 130 people out of work. The company announced the closure of its Vulcan Avenue operation in October. At the time, it cited market conditions for the shut down. The call centre provided customer care and technical support for its only client Bell Canada. Sykes originally operated as ICT Group when it opened its doors in Sydney in October of 1998.
