Sydney Shelter Open 24 Hours During Cold Snap

The Regional Municipality says the Community Homeless Shelter on Townsend Street in Sydney is open 24 hours with an Extreme Cold Warning in effect.

It says people outside Sydney can contact the shelter at (902) 564-9487.

And the Ally Centre in Sydney is also keeping its doors open for anyone who needs to get out of the cold.

The municipality says comfort centres where people can warm up will only open in the event of an emergency such as power outage lasting well beyond 24 hours.
