Sydney Mines KOC Hall Destroyed By Fire

The Knights of Columbus Hall in Sydney Mines was destroyed by fire, last night.

Regional deputy fire chief Brent Denny says the blaze on View Street was reported at 8:14.

The cause of the fire is unknown and there are no reports of injuries.

The Sydney Mines, North Sydney and Florence fire departments were all on the scene to fight the blaze.

The chief of the Sydney Mines Fire Department, Paul MacCormack, says they had to return to the scene this morning to put out hot spots.

The Fire Marshall’s office is investigating.

A KOC member says the building was insured.
